Carol Cross's interest in collecting Folk Art began when she realized her desire to decorate with original works of art rather than prints. Folk Art, being significantly less expensive than traditional gallery art, was the key to her passion. Plus, the style meshed perfectly with her Southern down-home personality--simple and fun-loving--works executed by untrained yet highly talented artists.

Carol's collection spans almost forty years beginning with Louisiana artist Clementine Hunter, fusing over the years with her enthusiasm for Mexican folk art. Three-years-ago, Carol retired from the news department of Chicago's WLS-TV after more than 35 years in the film and video editing profession. Continually working as an editor, her involvement in the visual aspect of television makes obvious connections with her love of other visual arts.
